Snowshoeing For Valentines Day
- 02.03.2009 - Article Number: 12

I think I might hang up the skis for a day and take my sweetie on a guided snowshoeing hike. We have both wanted to try snowshoeing for a long time, and I think it will make a great date.

You don't have to wait for Valentines Day. If you want to give snowshoeing a try, participants gather at the Breckenridge Recreation Center located at 880 Airport Road every Thursday (and this particular Saturday for Valentines Day) and hike a different area of Breckenridge while learning about winter ecology, flora, fauna, and the natural history of the area. $20/adult; $15/child (includes snowshoes) You can get more info at townofbreckenridge.com or call (970)453-1734

My friend just came home from a couple of days on the slopes at Breckenridge and I have a secret for you. He said the ski slopes are wide open and their is plenty of new snow. The snow report says that there is already 80 inches, and it is supposed to snow for the next several days!

I sure wish I could get out of work! I would love nothing more than to do some skiing without the crowds and I still have Christmas shopping to do. No place better to shop than Main Street Breckenridge!

I don't know if I'll make it back to Breckenridge before Christmas, but I will be back for some more awesome skiing in January.
